City of Bonney Lake

In the summer of 2022 NWDGA and Pierce County Disc Golf Association has met with Bonney Lakes Parks Commission and received overwhelming support for a disc golf course.  The Parks Association has submitted a motion to go before the City Council.  Date is still TBD.  The location being discussed is a portion of the land behind Fred Meyer.

City of Black Diamond

In the summer of 2022 NWDGA met with city leaders and was able to get disc golf added as part of the city's Park, Recreation, and Open Spaces (PROS) plan.  We are currently looking at Lake Sawyer Regional Park as the most likely location for a course.  No timeline at this point for building.

City of Sammamish

The City of Sammamish has been taking citizen input of the use of two of their future parks,  Beaton Hill and Big Rock South.  NWDGA has attended a few of these meetings and there has been support for a course in the city from both residents and city officials.  The public process is still ongoing.

pacific City Park

Official opening is August 3, 2024.  Located in Pacific, WA.  Mandos worked with the city and mayor of Pacific to make this course happen.  Due to being located in a flood zone, tee pads will be installed during the summer of 2025 so we can identify potential flooding issues.   This is a 9-hole course which will have multiple tee pads.   Great for beginners, but also some longer holes too.

City of Bonney Lake

NWDGA was able to meet with various city officials and get disc golf added to their Parks, Recreation, Trails, and Open Spaces Plan in February 2024.  As the city develops their park plan, disc golf is presently planned to be developed behind Fred Meyer in Bonney Lake. This will take a few years to develop, so hopefully opening sometime between 2026 and 2028.  See more info HERE

We have also talked to staff at the city of Kent about this potential course.  It is located on 35 acres, which most of it is wooded.  Potential parternship with King County to access more acreage too.  To learn more, please sign up with Engage Kent Parks.

City of Sammamish

We have attended multiple meeting with the city of Sammamish and were able to get disc golf considered on their park plan for Beaton Hill & Big Rock Park South Master Plan.  Our initial feeling is that there is just enough land for a 9-hole course, which would be a great addition to the area.   For info and updates please check HERE.

campus park (kent)

We have met with and walked this land with Kent Parks leadership and are helping as much as possible in the process.  This will be a great shorter course with some fun elevation changes.   Ideally we are looking at 18 holes here, but may be less than that.  To learn more, please sign up with Engage Kent Parks.

UNDISCLOSED LOCATION IN KING COUNTY

We are talking with a municipality to develop a large 18-hole course.  We have been awarded funding to research the feasibility of a course in this location.  This course has potential to be a great course in our region.  We are hopeful to share more details in late 2024 as community engagement will hopefully commence.

Undisclosed community college

We have been included in talks about building a disc golf course on a Community College campus in the Puget Sound area.  A work group has been created with college staff and students to investigate further.

city of seattle

As of summer 2024, we have had LOTS of meetings with Seattle about a course in the city limits.  There have been considerable challenges, but we continue to march along.  One of the biggest hurdles is the cost of developing a course.  We will continue to apply for various grants to see if we can make this a reality.   Large donations, such as from corporations, would help tremendously with our efforts here.  If interested in donating for a course in Seattle, please reach out to us to discuss.

A few other projects in early development.  check back for updates!
